Climbers often mark important or hard to see holds with chalk, resulting in what we call a tick mark. We, as climbers, may find it visually appealing, but other patrons of the area or land managers don’t always agree. It’s an obvious mark that a climber has been there and many non-climbers consider it unsightly.

Please be considerate of the other people who use the park. Remember to practice Leave No Trace principles and clean up your tick marks after your session! For additional information, check out the Access Fund’s post on the topic.
