On October 30 and 31 the BACC worked with a small crew of socially distanced volunteers from Save Mount Diablo and the Mount Diablo Interpretive Association to clean up and re-bolt Pine Canyon at Mount Diablo State Park.
Volunteers replaced over 40 aging and rusted bolts on Pagoda, Rock of Ages, and Flintstone Rock, including anchors and face bolts on routes like Blue Zenith, The Pillar, Dry December and Evolution. Many of the original bolt holes were re-used using sustainable re-bolting techniques, and replaced with 6-inch Stainless steel glue-in bolts donated by the ASCA.
In addition, our graffiti experts carried over 60 gallons of water up to Castle Rock Summit and removed 4 spots of graffiti. A huge thank you to Save Mount Diablo for organizing, and thanks to the volunteers for all the hard work!!
