Despite blustery, smokey conditions on October 27, 2019, twenty seven volunteers, including sponsored climbers David Allfrey, Savannah Cummins, Manoah Ainuu, and Daniel Woods, showed up to take on various stewardship projects at Indian Rock Park in the Berkeley Hills.

After having coffee, bagels and pastries for breakfast, participants got to work on projects including debris, glass, and trash clean-up; clearing paths and walkways; adding new mulch to areas throughout the park; and graffiti removal.

We were pleasantly surprised to find there wasn’t too much trash to pick up! We did, however, manage to collect two bags worth. Participants also collected three trash cans full of weeds and other debris.

Once the weeds were cleared out, our volunteers distributed twenty five cubic yards of mulch.

Our graffiti removal crew was able to remove two large patches.
Thanks to the City of Berkeley Parks Division and to the residents surrounding Indian Rock Park for their cooperation and support. As always, thank you so much to our volunteers for a great effort! We hope you had fun, and we look forward to seeing you at the next Adopt-A-Crag!
