Recap: Indian Mortar Rock and Glen Canyon

This spring we’ve held Adopt-a-Crag events at Indian Mortar Rock and Glen Canyon. Thanks to our hardworking volunteers who showed up and helped us care for these wild places!

At Indian and Mortar Rocks in the Berkeley Hills we removed 30 square feet of graffiti, five bags of invasive plants and one bag of trash. With everyone’s help (there were 35 volunteers!) we were also able to improve 200 feet of trails and spread 25 cubic yards of mulch.

Recently, at Glen Canyon Park in San Francisco, 35 volunteers helped to clear about 25 square feet graffiti, remove trash, improve 300 feet of trail, build/repair 20 steps, and distribute mulch. In addition, we conducted a hinge & berm repair along the trail staircase and created a drainage channel to help maintain the trails.

We’re looking forward to more productive stewardship events this summer! Check out our calendar to learn more and signup for our Mt. Saint Helena Adopt-A-Crag in May!
