Upcoming: East Bay Adopt-A-Crag, March 16, 2019

Join the Bay Area Climbers Coalition to take on some stewardship work at Indian and Mortar Rocks in the Berkeley Hills at our first Adopt-A-Crag of 2019! Please register via Eventbrite if you plan to attend!

Volunteer Roles
We will be working on the following projects at Indian and Mortar Rock:
1. Debris, glass and trash clean-up
2. Clearing of paths and walkways
3. Adding new woodchips to “The Pit” and other areas
4. Graffiti removal

Where is Indian Rock?
Indian Rock is located  in the Berkeley Hills. Mountain Project provides a great overview and directions. Carpooling is a great option since parking is limited. Please be respectful of neighbor’s driveways.

Safety
We are HUGE on safety! There will be a safety talk at 9am on the day of the event. Please note that we require all participants to be present for the safety talk and wear closed toe shoes. Unfortunately, we cannot allow anyone to participate that does not wear closed toe shoes and/or attend the safety talk.

Food
Lunch will be provided for all volunteers.

Water
There are drinking fountains available at Indian Rock, but please be sure to bring a water bottle.

Tools
We will be getting tools and gloves from the Berkeley Parks Department.

Bathrooms
Berkeley Parks & Rec will have a port-a-potty on site!

We are an inclusive community and welcome all people including LGBTQ+ and people of colour to volunteer with us. Again, kindly Please register via Eventbrite and we’ll see you on March 16!
