On Saturday, October 20th, Bay Area Climbers Coalition hosted our first ever Adopt-A-Crag at the Boy Scout Rocks in Mt. Diablo State Park!
Thank you so much to all 32 of the enthusiastic volunteers who attended! BACC aims to encourage everyone in the climbing and outdoors communities to take a personal interest in the wild spaces we enjoy, and we hope some attendees forged new connections with Mount Diablo.
On Saturday our very capable and ever eager crew helped to block off 8 non-sanctioned trails and formed rock walls to partition off another 3 areas all for habitat rehabilitation.
The team also helped to clear dead trees, trash, and graffiti from around the crags. We’re very excited to begin a relationship with the park – keep a look out for more stewardship activities at Mt. Diablo in the future!
