It’s been almost a week and we’re still stoked after an incredible Saturday at our Climbing Community Block Party at the Mountain Hardwear employee store! Eighteen organizations and more than 200 people joined Bay Area Climbers Coalition and Mountain Hardwear to kick off a summer of rad adventuring with an afternoon of games, food, beer, music and shopping!
We were proud to bring together an incredible and diverse group of local climbing organizations, including Alpenglow Collective, American Alpine Club, Berkeley Slackfest, Brown Ascenders, Girls Who Climb and RIM Club.
We raffled off more than $2,000 in prizes, including climbing courses and trips fromi Saano Adventures, Sports Basement Outdoors and REI, a handmade hangboard and chalk bag from Vanderwall Climbing, passes to Bridges Rock Gym, a sleeping bag and backpack from Mountain Hardwear, free crash pad rentals from V18 Rentals, and leashes made from recycled climbing rope from Dog Patch SF!
DJ Antiks dropped some beats while friends tested their rope coiling prowess, walked a slackline, answered trivia questions from the notorious BACC spinny wheel, crafted original trail mix creations and sipped Sufferfest Beer.
And there’s more good news! If you weren’t able to make it to the party, you can still shop at the Mountain Hardwear employee store in Richmond in support of BACC through July 15! The employee store features current season Mountain Hardwear, Prana, Sorel, and Columbia gear at up to 60% off retail prices! We’ll be sending invitations out to our email subscribers so shoot a note to email@example.com if you would like to join our mailing list and receive an invite!
BACC and Mountain Hardwear would like to thank everyone who attended, and all our supporters listed below. Climb on!
