We partnered with Berkeley Ironworks earlier this month to host a huge fundraising raffle during their Touchstone Climbing Series bouldering competition.
We are extremely proud to say that the fundraiser was a huge success!
Our goal was to raise at least $2,000 to purchase the equipment needed to take on more rebolting projects at crags throughout the Bay Area. The replacement of aging bolts is a huge undertaking and having enough of the right tools to do it cleanly and efficiently makes a world of difference.
Because of the amazing support of Berkeley Ironworks and the incredible psyche from the climbing community, we raised $3,500 to support stewardship projects and rebolting efforts at local crags.
We specifically want to call out the folks at Ironworks – they are incredible and have some of the deepest love for our local climbing that we have seen. Not only did they provide us with the venue to host the raffle, they also sold raffle tickets all week before the event, and they donated all of the non-member $10 competition entrance fees to the Bay Area Climbers Coalition. Those entrance fees made up half of the $3,500 that was raised.
Thank you to everyone that purchased raffle tickets – your support will ensure safer bolts and better trails at crags throughout the Bay Area.
And HUGE “thank you” to all of the companies that donated products – without them this would not have been possible.
